  • Racing heart, tight chest, or tension
  • Avoiding people, places, or tasks
  • Irritability and feeling on edge
  • Panic attacks
  • Trouble focusing at work
  • Overthinking conversations and decisions

How anxiety therapy helps

Therapy helps you understand what triggers your anxiety, how your body and thoughts feed each other, and what keeps the cycle going. From there, you can practice new ways to respond.

Ramin draws on cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) for practical tools, mindfulness for calming the body, and a client-centered approach so you feel understood, not managed. Read Anxiety vs. stress: how to tell the difference.

Tools we may use

Practical and personal

Cognitive behavioral therapy

Notice anxious thought patterns and test new ones.

Mindfulness and breathing

Calm the body so the mind can follow.

Gradual exposure

Step back into what you have been avoiding, at your pace.

Understanding the roots

Explore where the worry started and what it protects.

Anxiety at work and in relationships

Anxiety often shows up where the stakes feel highest: performance reviews, auditions, deadlines, or conflict with a partner. Therapy can focus on the places it affects you most. See therapy for professionals and couples therapy.

When to reach out

Consider talking to someone if worry takes up much of your day, you are avoiding things you used to handle, or sleep has suffered for weeks. You do not need a diagnosis to start.

If anxiety comes with thoughts of harming yourself, call or text 988 any time, or call 911 in an emergency.

FAQ

Questions, answered

Still wondering about something? Ask during your free consultation.

How long does anxiety therapy take?

Many people notice changes within a few months of weekly sessions, though it depends on your goals and history.

Do you prescribe medication?

No. Ramin is a therapist, not a prescriber. If medication might help, he can talk with you about seeing a psychiatrist or physician.

Is online therapy as effective as in-person therapy?

For many concerns, including anxiety, depression, stress, and relationship issues, research has found video therapy to be comparable to in-person sessions. Many clients also find it easier to stay consistent when there is no commute.

Do you take insurance?

Sessions are private pay (out of network). During your free consultation you can ask about using out-of-network benefits with your insurance plan.

How much does therapy cost?

Individual sessions are $250 and couples sessions are $500. The first consultation is free. Sessions are private pay, and Ramin is an out-of-network provider.

Who can you see?

Because Ramin is licensed in California, he can see clients who are located in California at the time of the session, anywhere in the state, from San Diego to the Bay Area.
